Streets of Manchester (Manchester)

By admin, 24 August 2010 11:16 PM

During my visit in Manchester for the exhibition The beautiful and the damned, I happened to have time for a quick stroll in the city, in particular in the Northern Quarter.

Although Manchester and Liverpool are famous for their animosity as far as football is concerned, street artists have made their own choice. In Manchester streets can for instance be found pieces by Obey, Banksy, Space Invader, Kid Acne, Ariz or Roid MSK:

The Beautiful And The Dammed (Manchester)

By admin, 20 August 2010 5:42 PM

The Mooch Contemporary Street Art gallery yesterday had its second exhibition, and introduced for the occasion three British artists whose works are mostly based on portraits, with three very different styles.

Danny O’connor, a Liverpudlian artist, makes canvases in an abstract style and mostly works with several layers overlapping each other.
Ben Slow uses a lot drips and thrown paint in his portraits.
As for Gemma Compton, she makes magnificent and very realistic paintings of half-human, half-animal characters.

The Beautiful and The Damned,
from the 20 August to the 2 Octobre
Open to the public from Wednesday to Saturday from 11a.m. to 6p.m.

Rue des Pyrénées News (Paris)

By admin, 10 June 2010 11:18 PM

I am afraid this will be the last post about Paris for some time, as I am now living among the awesome British people.

However, the content of this last post is high quality, especially this magnificent French/German/Italian mural by Ankh, Wire, Sheda, Reso, Opium, Katre, Mr Wany, Astro, Rusl, Rota, Shane, Esty, Zeus40 and Next.

I also have an announcement for you guys. Is there anyone out there who lives near Paris and would enjoy making pictures, in galleries or in the streets, then writing a few lines (in French, English, or both) to be posted here?
