Streets of Manchester (Manchester)

By admin, 24 August 2010 11:16 PM

During my visit in Manchester for the exhibition The beautiful and the damned, I happened to have time for a quick stroll in the city, in particular in the Northern Quarter.

Although Manchester and Liverpool are famous for their animosity as far as football is concerned, street artists have made their own choice. In Manchester streets can for instance be found pieces by Obey, Banksy, Space Invader, Kid Acne, Ariz or Roid MSK:

Rue des Pyrénées News (Paris)

By admin, 10 June 2010 11:18 PM

I am afraid this will be the last post about Paris for some time, as I am now living among the awesome British people.

However, the content of this last post is high quality, especially this magnificent French/German/Italian mural by Ankh, Wire, Sheda, Reso, Opium, Katre, Mr Wany, Astro, Rusl, Rota, Shane, Esty, Zeus40 and Next.

I also have an announcement for you guys. Is there anyone out there who lives near Paris and would enjoy making pictures, in galleries or in the streets, then writing a few lines (in French, English, or both) to be posted here?

This time two gorgeous murals. The first one is by HEC (Haut En Couleur) in shades of yellow, crimson and green. The second, smaller one, just next to it, was made by WFC with Vinie, Berack, Mandra and Saya, in shades of orange and black on a blue background.

Worth pointing out that Kashing also work recently in Rue Dénoyez, here with Izo and Over Under.

Here are some news from Liverpool, particularly from Grafton Street, which I already mentioned here.

A gigantic “invicible” by Casm NSA covers the whole of the main wall of the spot. The surronding area is not far behind, as Liverpool’s two main crews -NSA and TCT- slowly but surely invest new walls in nearby streets.

It has been three months that the old RATP warehouse of the rue des Pyrénées became an unavoidable location for Parisian writers.

Due to the size of the building, big and beautiful painting can be seen by the passers-by. Here are some pictures to make you feel like  going for a walk:

Vitry Jam 4 – Le Monk (Vitry sur Seine)

By admin, 22 March 2010 5:50 PM

The Vitry Jam takes place every month in Vitry sur Seine. The 4th edition was held this weekend, and a party was organized with the artists for the opening in a private loft, the Monk. This loft is the dream home for any street art fan because all the artists staying there for the Vitry Jam left their mark on all the walls of the three-storeys house. And such artists! To name just a few: C215, Btoy, Finbarr, Snik, Sly2, Orticanoodles, Fake, Pixel Pancho, etc.

The Vitry Jam is also an opportunity for the artists to express themselves on the walls of Vitry sur Seine. You can’t turn a corner without finding a piece!

I have two regrets after this great night, though. First of all, the light was fading when I arrived in Vitry, so the pics I took in the street are not worth the originals. Then, I could not attend the next day to see what was in the Zongo’s Project Room and in the Concept Loft, the two other locations of the Vitry Jam.

And a big thank you to Virginia for inviting me!

Nick Walker “Le Coran Can” (Paris)

By admin, 20 March 2010 5:52 PM

Nick Walker just realised a new piece, showing women wearing burqa and dancing the french cancan, on the Quai de Valmi in Paris.

This is a way of expressing his opposition to the proposal of French president Sarkozy’s government to prohibit the full veil.

A short video of the artist in action:
